We've got two threads called "How" and Why" so I'm starting a "Where" one!
Where did you meet your partner? I was the babysitter for my husband's landlady when I first met him (in school uniform).

I was single/divorced and my friend had been trying to talk me into dating again. She tried to talk me into the lonely hearts ads , but I wouldn't have it.
Out for lunch one day she dared me to chat someone up.
Mr S had a nice smile and no wedding ring, so I chatted to him, and asked him if he fancied going out for a drink with a cuddly little Welsh girl .......he said no!
As he left he handed me his phone no.
I txt him and said ' you cheeky bastard, it took a lot of guts to ask you out, you say no, then give me your phone no.'
He replied that he was sorry and arranged to meet me to take me for a meal two days later.
I got ready to go for the meal only to get a txt saying he was ill and couldn't make it...............well thats that I thought.
Went to work in my evening job the following night and had a phone call from him, apologising for the night before and asking if he could pick me up and take me out,
explained that I was in work, chatted for a bit, then half an hour later he turned up, and sat there with me for five hours chatting away while I worked..........we have been together ever since. XXXXXXXX

Over the telephone. He has a lovely speaking voice on the telephone. I operated a switchboard and you get to know the voices and if the line he wanted was busy and I wasn't, rather than leave him in "hold" we'd chat until the line was free. I found out where he lived etc. and he'd wave to me from his car as I waited for the bus each morning, until I missed the bus one morning, and he gave me a lift to work. (we worked for the same company different departments) Next morning I deliberately missed the bus. We were friends for about 10 years before we finally got together. Married now 26 years - I didn't tell him about deliberately missing the bus until after we got married!
Ten years now.
He always said that he would never ever get married again, he had two children, and i had two plus three step children from my first marriage, they all tried to talk him into changing his mind, his daughter even proposed for him when we were out one day, but he wouldn't have it.
Then three years ago, he proposed one night when we were out and he was drunk.
I said ask me again when you are sober,
so he got down one knee the next morning and did. X
We have been married for one year on june 1st this year. X
