woes, this pain across the bridge of the nose has got worse. Was given doxyclin which didn't do a lot, and now the pain is more severe, nose feels blocked, swollen, no nasal discharge, but pain under the eyes, down the face and into the neck. I have tried nasal sprays, steam treatment and now been given some more steam menthol and eucalyptus to inhale, blocked ears constant. The bad thing is i looked it up to see if can get a handle on this and came up with something really nasty. plus i am tired, pains in the neck, back are still bad, and waiting to see a neurologist,
not lately, i used to see them for the vertigo, tinnitus, which has gone through the roof, i now have severe pains in upper thighs, feet, which doctor thinks is nerve damage, and feeling very out of sorts. The Naproxen doesn't seem to do much for the pain, when i bend get severe burning sensation in spine, neck, which i had over 18 months ago, but eased off, and was told more or less it was my imagination?
pixie, still waiting, the doctor rather messed up as i mentioned before, but i have been back today and she has forwarded me to the neuro team..for CT scan. not sure when that will be. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia many years ago, but this nasal pain is not nice, lean forward and feels like my head will explode.
it could, or maybe not, she didn't seem to think so, however yours truly is not a happy camper. I jest but the pain has gone to somewhere i haven't been before, except when i had a tooth abscess,
The pain across the bridge of the nose and down the face is because of a sinus problem. Blocked ears can cause a pain down the neck (and it can be excruciating but that is ususally when there is a large outside pressure change) Can you take Sudafed? (not the cold one, just pseudoephedrine) If you use nasal sprays, they cause your nose to block even more so I would only do that for a few days.
i have had sinusitis before, in fact several times, i know the signs, and unfortunately the smell and taste, if you never had it don't ask.
this doesn't seem the same, and the anti biotic should have cleared it up as that is what i was given for the sinus.
i even considered asking her to send me to x ray, to see, not sure if it would show up if there is any significant problem, but the pain is real enough, in the gums, upper palate and jaw bone,
one thing, i had my nose broken twice, not by some thug but by a sibling,
horse play and all that, when i was little, it was a problem then as it continues to be. How ever i have been told i have polyps in the nasal cavity,
they do itch, i try not to scratch.. and had long term problems with teeth, some of which i mentioned, nasty pain, the worse ever.
A pal of mine was diagnosed with Atypical Facial Pain some years ago.
She went to her dentist who said that her jaw was misaligned in some way.
A dental splint was made for her which she wore for several months and the pain went away.
I must say that she was also taking amitryptiline for the pain which she found was the only thing that helped.
Amitryptiline in low doses is a very effective painkiller , in higher doses it is an antidepressant. She was on the low dose, but over a long period of time , who knows which effect she was getting from it.
In summary, if I were you I would try a dentist and try amitryptiline.
