Now I Am Worried
13 Answers
i have to do a blood test for diabetes tomorrow, fine, but why on earth is the following happening, tingling, burning sensations in both forearms hands, and feet, i had the forearm burning sensation around 18 months ago and was told i was imagining it. but it has returned in the last two months in abundance, i told her that the pains in the abdomen were severe, she thought i was constipated.... perhaps, but the feet tingling, burning on the top has been going on for nearly a year. it has got worse over the last few months, my face feels the same like pins and needles, hot and prickly...
and felt flu like for weeks - i feel shivery, been given antibiotics today for urine infection... trimethoprim, which i have yet to take .. now what.

This is not the the same as 'imagining' it, anxiety is real and produces real sensations - you have had so much going on recently it is a possibility.
Hopefully the Antibiotics will clear up the infection and the blood test get you nearer to a diagnosis.

Don't be fobbed off. Keep hassling your GP until he/she arranges for some proper tests.

Hi, sounds like neuropathic pains. Tingling where you say. It can occur almost anywhere in the body but mostly the periphery, I get it in feet and hands. Very common in feet. Prolonged high glucose levels is the cause.
The tests will show this. Having diabetes is not good news, but at least you will know. It is a manageable disease. When you get glucose levels under control, within a few weeks, symptoms should improve.
There should be lots of information and support for you from gp and diabetes nurse.
Please don't worry yourself. Have you Googled diabetes. There are many sites that provide as much information as you can take.
Try Diabetes UK.
Good luck.
