Got my chest xray results on Friday which I've been dreading but there was no change since May :-) Lung function tests down a bit but not too bad. I've finished the anti-bio's, thank goodness. Back to the doc in 2 weeks. Thanks to eveyone who has given me advice with this xx
masma. great news re chest x ray result, hopefully LFT will not deteriorate much during the winter months. clarithromycin does work, but its god awful to take, hope things are 'quiet' at home.
Still tip-toing along Anne.. 6 weeks and counting! The thing is.. when do I start nagging him to sort himself out re. job etc? Don't want to be too hard but .....
Yes he goes for councilling and they've got him on an art class once a week which he enjoys. It's very early days but if they're short handed they even ask him to help out. He's been told that although he's a long way to go his future could be in helping others. All we can, beside encouraging him, is hold our breath and pray.
I am glad that your son is still doing well, it must be a relief for you and your husband.
I don't know what is wrong with your lungs but my mum died of emphysema and she was ill most of my life. She and my dad were both smokers. He developed emphysema but not to the same extent.
I do voluntary work and some of the guys are inpatients at the local psychiatric hospital. The do a few shifts per week and it adds structure to their week and some responsibility too.
Thank you all, yet again, for your kind thoughts.
Wolf..I have Brochiectasis and Asthma. I've never been a smoker but all of our very large family were, don't know if I'm right or not but I put most of my chest problems down to the fact that I grew up a passive smoker.Hey ho things could be a lot worse.
