My mother is 79 and thinking of having her ears pierced for the first time. I worry that it might take a lot longer to heal in someone her age. Any advice?

Yes it might take longer to heal.
Nothing much you can do if she has made up her mind.
She should go right ahead, just make sure the piercer is reputable and follows all hygiene standards.
considering the ops that are done on us wrinklies these days and the amazing success rate, I would have thought the risk was small provided that she does as Mamya says and is careful about hygiene. Good on here I say!!
Good on her, too, it's the sort of thing my old mum would have done!
I don't know.... parents these days!!!! lol

Seriously though you may find it heals better if pierced with a needle as opposed to a gun. Do you have anywhere near you that does it like that? Tattoo parlours are more likely to offer this service over a jewellers or Claire's Accessories type place.

Good on her and good luck!
