One of my friends set me up with this guy and we went out once. I thought it went pretty well even though we didn't talk much because we saw a movie. A few days after the date he told me that he wanted to get to know me better but right now he can't be in a serious relationship. I don't have his number but we're friends on Facebook so should I message him? If so, what should I say? I don't want him to think I'm trying to date him because obviously he's not ready for that. I just want to talk so we can become friends and eventually maybe date.

if so he may just need time to get his head together - make the odd comment on his posts - not loads and and not just anything, also 'like' the odd thing, but not many so it doesnt look like you are prowling his page, but maybe wait a bit see if he contacts you = at leats then you will know if he likes you

if he doesn't maybe send him a neutral 'hi' type message and see what he says.
