From Where Do I Start Counting My Menstrual Cycle?

I have some PROVERA tablets so that I don't have a period whilst on holiday in about 3 weeks.
It says to take them 16 days into my cycle. Do I count from the 1st day of the period or the last? I think I've got them too late!

2) Take it 3 days before your period should start.

I'd better start taking it now then. My holiday will be ruined of it doesn't work! I was hanging on to see if came on time. The last lot I had were taken 5 days before it was due. I hadn't realised these were different.

Oh can I sqad? Is due around the 3rd but I have been quite erratic this last year (age thing I think) so I was going to see if it cane and if not take it 5 days before I go. Would that be Ok?

I'm sure sqad's answer is medically correct in refernce to your pills but from a female viewpoint the first day of a cycle, or when you start counting pregnancy from is always the first day of your period.
