How long does a prescription from a dentist remain valid for?

I believe that perscriptions are good for one year.
I work in a pharmacy and all scrips are valid for 6 months, unless they are for a CD drug (drugs kept in the safe) i doubt this will be the case with a script from the dentist though! hope this helps
