Sqad, An Update

I've now got 2 x MRIs, 1 on 24/03, 1 on 28/03, one for Head, one for spine'
They won't do them together 'cause of AVR.
+ Guys Valve Clinic on 27/03
Gotta wait 'til 24/04 to see Neurologist.

Well, went for MRI this afternoon, had one or two before, no probs,
hopped on the bed type thing, two flat plates were placed either side of head and touching ears, ok so far, then a 'mask type' thing was fitted between them covering my face, like a full-face helmet but without the comfortable lining, not so happy with this, this is a new one on me, however, I'm there, we'll give it a go, big mistake, lasted about two minutes before hitting the get me out of here quick button, I think it was the 'mask' over my face that did it, just couldn't hack-it. I have another one on Friday, will make sure I have some 'happy pills' from the Doc before I go or that won't happen either, in the meantime . . . hangs head in shame :-(

Sounds very claustrophobic baldric...don't think I'd like it either...go for the sedation next time xx

No shame at all hon, I did the same with my first one, not a nice feeling,
Second time around my Doc gave me some Diazepam, which helped a lot. X X

A few months ago I had an MRI on my neck with the aparatus that you mention. I shut my eyes so it didn`t bother me about the face mask etc. Could you take a fabric eye mask? Maybe one that is impregnated with lavender oil or some other soothing smell that relaxes you.
