I am quite surprised that you can have an operation for an infection in the bladdder. I thought an op would only be for tumours or such.

What would they do to the bladder in an operation?

that depends on what is causing the recurrent infections.

But they cant cut an infection away can they?
no but if there is scarring or a narrowed exit, maybe an ulcerated area, those things need surgical treatment. Its not the actual infection, its what is making it able to take hold again and again.
Has the bladder got a fault that is holding the infection?
^^That's what i meant:-\

Thanks woofgang. Now i see what you mean, and that makes very good sense.
Why didnt i ever think of that. I have had tumours in the bladder that have just returned after 10 yrs and have successfully have them removed.
Didnt think of an infection that needed an op. Thanks muchly .
