However hard I tried I failed to visualise my' third eye' in the middle of my forehead - and seeing myself as a rosebud slowly unfolding in the sunshine had me in hysterics.
Again personal view but if exercise and getting fit is what you crave then join a good gym studio or similar where chatting and laughing are not taboo.
I love it, I had problems with my shoulder due to underdeveloped back muscles and it has worked a treat with that, as well as increasing flexibility and I generally feel stronger. You need to commit to it for at least a month before you see small differences, after 6 months at it I can now touch the floor but nothing compared to the others in my class (very tight hamstrings...)
The best thing about my class is that she doesn't do any of the spiritual stuff, it is more of an exercise and strength class, she borrow bits from Pilates too. We always get the giggles when doing silly poses, it is veyr informal. I'm moving to london next month and I don't know how I'm going to find a place similar, I really don't want all the meditation rubbish - just the body effects!
