Anybody encounter above. I do all the time particularly from liquor trade, cafes and restaurants.

My friend and I went for tea last Saturday and she wanted to get a bottle of wine - she talks to the guy in the off licence - Now, I am a good connoisseur of wines - could you advise me of a nice wine today. "wha wha wha" - was the reply - the friend proceeded to say the same thing today - OMG - I then said - did you not realise he didn't want to talk to you.

Goes into restaurant - waiter - ham is lovely - OMG - a piece of rubber was presented. Asked for a jug of water - got two glasses. Friend asked for glasses for wine - they were too warm for the cold wine.

Yesterday I went to cafe to get "take away sandwiches" - there were 4 workers there - I was invisible. APATHY or what. They couldn't run a pi££ up in a brewery!!!

^^^ same thing again.
Shops with six assistants just chatting while I wait to be served. I've put my purchase on the counter and walked several times to black looks from the assistants. Baaaaah.

Well, I would answer,
but if you're going to get impatient after 3 mins!
;-)
^walked out^

I'd tell you more but I can't be bothered.

So could I but it would be too lengthy. No, Baldric - not 3 mins more like 6-8 - I should have walked out too. I kept waiting for enthusiasm. You learn a bit every day.
Baldric means you posted at 1316 and again 1319 (3 minutes) I think there's been some wire crossing.

Is this just apathy or *** poor performance?

Prudie 3 mins had passed indeed but I was only correcting my first post not re-iterating it.
The worst case I've encountered was when having paid for an item and waiting for my change. The assistant looked up, saw one of her friends waiting at another till, went and served her, had a little chat and then came back and handed me my change.
Question Author
Colin - I did say "anybody serving here" - that prompted a bit of a response but I shouldn't have had to say anything.

no didn't complain cos complaint would have been met with apathy too.
apathy met with apathy then?

I've just 'walked' as well WY
I think that we have here a case of apathy not being met with any sort of empathy or even sympathy.
LoL.....You took the words right out of my mouth Woofgang!
