Reflux Issues

As you may have seen in my previous posts I suffer quite badly with reflux and recently went through a few months of nothing, no symptoms and no feeling crappy every day which was bliss and ironically around the time I met with a general surgeon to discuss what to do next.

We agreed that when I wanted the surgery I would get in touch and left it at that.

Now the reflux is back and has a new twist in that I am now regluxing food which is not only disgusting but worrying also.

Surgeon is happy to operate but after a few discussions with him it sounds pretty risky and as with everything there is no guarantee. I have tried all the drugs available besides a new one which I am picking up tomorrow.

What else can I do? I've tried avoiding trigger foods, everything irritates it and weirdly it doesn't really affect me at night, mostly through the day.

I've googled refluxing actual food and can't really find much.

Anyone had this surgery? Any advice? Miracle cures?

Even if I decide to have the surgery I have to wait for a good few months as I am about to have surgery for something else.

Thanks

what surgery is being suggested ?
Question Author
Yes Methyl, I see a Gastro and my GP and both have given up. I've tried every drug besides the one I pick up tomorrow at the highest does age on most, some we have tried by taking two different drugs together. I get no relief at all usually or just a little.

Now this new symptom has started hence the Gastro prescribing this new drug, which he tells me is the last one to try. I keep my fingers crossed but I don't react well to most drugs regardless if what they are for so I'm not confident it will work out.

My diet is very restricted and still I have hassle with reflux, throat clearing, coughing, chest pain etc...

I can't seem to win.

poor thing, sounds miserable. I hope the new medication helps.

Thanks Methyl all are followed and no difference is made. But I appreciate your help. I suspect the only time I get relief is I just don't eat which is not viable. I only drink water. Smaller meals is something I am trialling now.
