Atrial Fibrillation And Treatment Options Flecanide, Anyone On Flecanide
1 Answers
Hi there I have paroxsymal atrial fibrillation im only 42 but most of the time it is not a problem I am on Bisoporol 10mg and Rivoroxaban 2omg to prevent clots. The last few weeks I have been having more episodes than normal and I have been breathless. I went to see GP and he spoke to cardiologist who wants me to go on flecanide as he thinks the bisoporol is not working as well as it should now but here is the thing I have to go into a cardiac ward for 3-4 days to be monitored while I take it and it gets stabilised in case it causes arrythmias which are worse Im not happy about that at all. They wont give me cardioversion ablation therapy as I am only in it paroxsmally, they say that If I want I can just put up with the AF with what I am doing as it is unlikely to do much damage due to the rivoraxaban but it has worried me a bit.

Bisoprolol is a beta blocker and has worked for you for some time................now apparently it isn't.
You have 3 alternatives.
1) Live with your increased arrythmias.
2) Change to Flecanide....which needs to be administered initially in hospital.
3) Cardoversion........which is your ace card if all else fails.
My choice would be number 2 above.
No, I am not on Flecanide, but some ABer may well be.
