I have just found out I have high blood pressure, and I'm currently using a blood pressure machine at home for a week, just to make sure it's not that I'm getting worked up going to the GP. The readings are high, 148 over 98, so I'm guessing that I'll possibly need medication. I'm not massively overweight (although I could do with losing a stone). I'm not an unhealthy eater either, and I don't smoke or drink. However, I'm taking chemotherapy tablets and aspirin. Will this have any effect on other medication? Obviously I will be asking the haematologist next time I see him early next month, but I was just wondering f anybody here might know. Thank you.

With those readings it is almost certain that you will be started on medication to lower your BP and that will depend upon the choice of your physician.

No, there should be no interaction between you BP tablets and your chemotherapeutic drugs.

I hope so too! I'm actually quite scared by this high BP though, as my Dad died of a stroke when he was 55!....... and I suppose worrying about it won't help either.
