I have a completely irrational loathing of the word 'tummy'.

As a child I had a (pot) belly and still today I refer to my belly or stomach.......never, ever tummy.

I even recall being scolded in class for saying belly and not tummy!

So what term do you use for your midriff?

^^^recognise all of those terms!

Although a drop dead fantastic bug has rendered me with slinky hips and a waist line recently :-/
It's a paunch
stomach. I hate the word belly. I always associate it with Beer, or pot, or fat fleshy dancers ! . When I went to The Gambia, many people were complaining of Gambia Gut or Banjul Belly. I just called it The Trots .
"Belly" is rude!

I'm wandering off I know but I have a sneaking suspicion there is probably a pub in Barnes or Chiswick that has tried serving Pork Tummy, with little success ;-)
Some people think that 'belly' and 'stomach' are synonyms, but they are not. Other languages draw a sharp distinction between the stomach and the guts.
I'm not keen on the word tummy either, I say tum sometimes but usually stomach....and I loathe the word bowels, probably because mine are so bloomin' irritable!
Stomach usually, sometimes tummy because I irrationally dislike the word belly for some reason.
Other irrational dislikes are 'potty' for mad ( absolutely makes my blood boil), 'okey doke', 'at the end of the day' and ' tea' for evening meal.
Isn't it weird how we take a dislike a certain word?

Mine's "tasty", can't ruddy stand it, always sounds so insipid. Oh and the M word, that just makes me want to throw up when I hear it.
wobbly
I say belly, or wobbly bit :-/
What's the 'M' word?
gotta be belly

"stomach"

If I was in better shape, I'd refer to it as my "abs" lol

I don't like the word "belly" ... it sounds too much like something a butcher would sell ... and it also sounds a bit wobbly.

Sorry K-Val, but I'm a bit of an "okee dokee" sayer.
Haha .......Boo's M word :o)

Not saying .................
