Funeral

Yesterday, I went to the funeral of one of my oldest and dearest friends, I helped her plan it and it was a 'lovely' service.
Have you planned your funeral? I haven't. It's something I keep meaning to do.

If they do not want it then it is into a body bag (£11 on eBay) then a van delivery of the body to the back door of a crematorium for disposal.
Total cost is around £380 , death certificate and cremation permit £58 , van to crematorium £20 and the cremation fee £300.
I will arrange for a friend or relative who is on benefits to apply for a funeral grant which is £1200 so that leaves over £800 for an all day p*ss up at my local boozer for a memorial.
By the way it is 100% legal to just have a body in a bag delivered to the back door of a crematorium so it can just be put straight into the furnace for disposal with no ceremony at all. All you need is the death certificate, and clearance for cremation , plus a way to get the stiff to the crem.

As has been said I don't care how I go, except that I will NOT be disposed of by the Co-op. I recently attended a funeral arranged by them and I was appalled. The undertakers were wearing top hats decorated with black ribbons, like something out of Dickens, whilst the chief undertaker stood at the front whilst people filed in, sporting two gold earrings and chewing gum throughout.
Evening, Tilly...all well planned.....except for the pre-paid funeral...not paying for a party I'll miss so the kids can sort that....
Humanist funeral.....wicker coffin covered in white flowers and ivy.....music chosen....the children had to grow up with Joan Baez so they can see me out with one of hers.... and of course lots of Irish to tap their feet to...before a burial in a woodland.
Then a long wake so they can all reminisce about the crazy woman they are going to miss.......☺
