I doubt whether that you will go "bandy" but you may wear the outside of your shoes out due to compensatory gait following osteo-arthritis of the hip.
Wear and tear of the ageing hip joints, even without pain, but more so with it,produces a gait which attempts to relieve any hip problems....a sort of "waddle" develops, particularly if one hip joint is affected more than the other.
The abnormal gait affects the wear of your footwear,affecting the outside of your shoes.
