Have you ever taken an instant dislike towards someone but dont know why?
Has someone ever taken (to your knowledge) a dislike to you, but you dont know why?
Have you ever taken a dislike to someone but later changed your mind about them? Are first impressions accurate?
Thanks.

She would accuse me of things I hadn't done, she was in charge while the boss was off sick. I thought it better to not rock the boat, but when the boss came back she decided I wasn't suited to the job. I often wonder what the person had told her about me.
Yes - both ways.
Our middle son-in-law clearly merely tolerates us, but we have no idea why - maybe something our daughter has told him - ?
I was suspicious of my older son-in-law on first meeting - didn't last though, he is a total diamond.
I disliked a guy at work on first meeting - compounded by takes I was told of his weirdness. When we came to work together, we became very close friends, and remain so years after he left the company. Turns out each of us was told untruths about the other, which contributed to our mutual dislike.
I - as have many I am sure - disliked some people on sight with no real reason, that's just instinct I guess.

A further thought - I can appear a little weird as my seriously sarcastic humour and irony are not to everyone's tastes, and my intelligence level, which appears far higher than it actually is, sometimes intimidates people.
The present Mrs Hughes loathed me on first meeting, mistaking my sarcasm for a serious point (not directed at her!) and it took a while for her to get past it and get to know me.

I'm a good judge of character and have taken against many people instantly.
I met Fred Talbot about 14 years ago and there was something about him that really made my skin crawl. This was long before there was any publicity about him being an abuser of teen boys.
My other half's brothers seem to dislike me for no apparent reason. I have never done anything to make them feel this way.

just scrolled down to related posts, does seem that wendilla has a penchant for the same question.
Had to ask tho, had a couple of friends round last night and we were talking about different people we had known over the years and our mutual distrust of certain individuals that we had encountered, not quite knowing why at the time.
