Only if its someone uneducated talking about it. Weed is the green stuff, the plant itself dried out, and hash is the resin taken off the plants, which reaches you as the solid brown stuff. There is also pollen, which is like hash, but softer and stickier, and also....aw hell i cant be bothered explaining. Theres lots of different types of both. But no they are not both the same thing.
