Prom Dress

It's my prom this year. I'm looking for a dark brown prom dress as I have dark brown hair and I think that would suit. I live on the Isle of Man and don't have too much money to spend although I have saved about �200 and my dad will contribute. I don't know where to start or where to look or anything. I'm 5"2' so pretty short and a size 12ish with big hips! Thanks for any help :)x

Have you asked around the other girls who will be attending where they are getting their dresses from?

You need to find somebody who will make your ideal dress for you and as you have a good sum of money to spend this should be possible.  Local newspaper may have dressmakers listed.

Or what about hiring a dress from a bridalwear stockist.

Do you have a TK Maxx? They are brilliant for evening dresses, though you do have to root through the racks a bit!

With that sum of money it will be easy to get one made for you, go to John Lewis (or similar) they have tons of fabrics to choose from as well as all the pattern books, you can expect to pay around �10 for the pattern. Or you could look in your favourite magazines for a dress you would like re-produced.

You're so lucky you're getting a prom, they were introduced to UK schools waaaay after I left.  Have fun xx
