Absolutely no idea - I had one virtually the same albeit with a lot less material - If someone made megabucks for 'designing' it some needs their head it's hardly cutting edge design
& at £199.00 !!!
Split above knees could air, more than expected, when wearer is seated.
I have said this before but M+S profits succeed or fall on their ability to persuade women to buy clothes they don't need. Its not prawn sandwiches, of men's underpants that is at the heart of the business.

So they appear to have persuaded enough women to buy this very ordinary-looking dress !
It's very ugly (sorry to those who have bought it) BUT it was worn by Alexa Chung. For some weird gullible types that's all that's needed for it to sell out. I believe Kate's yellow dress and the shawl the baby was wrapped in on that first photo of the Royal baby being taken home sold out in hours.
Should have added that mine was bought in the 1960s
Jeez, that's a horrible skirt. The 70's fashion should stay where it belongs, in the 70's.
It's hideous...
You're a fine one to talk, granny grump...that hat is so last year

(although it is technically so next year too I suppose)
what Rocky said. Having said that, my everyday uniform is their denim jeggings and my slightly posher uniform is their coloured jeggings. My winter uniform is their corduroy jeggings and my really posh wear is their velveteen jeggings. I have got a massive stash of all of these because my experience of m and S is that as soon as they get something in that I like in my size, it runs out the door before you can say knife.
You're right Talbot - I'm either a trendsetter or throwback ha ha I haven't got round to changing my avatar
I once had a handbag which looked exactly like that. I left it on the floor and some mice bit a hole in it. I wasn't too sorry to be rid of it.

Oh dear, so uninformed Mikey, a Dress has armholes and sometimes sleeves as well, you know bits that go over the shoulders as well.
This is a Skirt.
I had a skirt like that in the 80's and it didn't cost anywhere near that price. I couldn't justify buying one for that much money.
Since when did the Bloke out of Minder write articles on fashion?
They would have to pay me a lot more than £199 to wear that.. It's awful!
I think it is awful too. And the price £199! Never in a month of Sundays!!
Ugly
If M&S want to make a profit (or even ends meet) they should realise that
£199.00 for a skirt is ridiculous.
Most of us live in the real world. Sit, eat, drink, stand next to anyone else so doing.
Wear it and it will be noticed. Then what? Dry clean, raise the nap?
All I want is a simple black jacket.
Not in my local M&S.

Zacs made me laugh, because that's exactly what I thought
