Torn Cartilage Info

Have just had my MRI results from an ongoing knee pain problem. Have been told that i have a torn cartilage. Will this mean an operation?

It is usually done as a day case or perhaps an overnight stay. Procedure is performed under local anesthesia with perhaps a "top up" of spinal anesthesia.. .depends upon the unit. If your symptoms of "knee locking" are affecting your quality of life and maybe if the knee is swollen, then an arthroscopy ( minimal keyhole surgery) will be advised.
You will decide as to the necessity for operation, the surgeon will give you the options.
