Dressing For Peg Site

my PEG site is rather leaky and this messes up my clothes, I am looking for an adhesive dressing that would cover the site, and not be to expensive as it would have to be changed twice a day, does anyone out there know of anything that would be suitable.

can your nurse help? Is it the food that's leaking or is the site infected?

The site is not infected, its feed and also a bit of blood from what I think is called granulation, I have not seen a nurse, thought I could sort it myself.

if your saw a nurse, your dressings would be free. How long ago did you have it inserted? Has it always leaked?

thanks bedknobs, yes you are right, I never thought about 'free' dressings, I shall make an appointment with the nurse pronto.

it's not just the fact it will be free though - the nurse will probably have come across this before and 1) know if it's usual and 2) know what sort of things can help or 3) know who to refer you to if 1 and 2 are not true!

JJ , it's a tube for direct feeding into the stomach, generally done when someone has swallowing difficulties and may aspirate food directly onto their lungs.

my FIL had a peg I was given special dressings by district nurse also wipes to avoid granulation..
