Nice to see you back.
Re my dizziness and loss of hearing, it is still happening. I go a few days fine and then I feel as if I am back to square one, my hearing goes in my left ear and then my balance goes and i spin.
I saw ENT yesterday again who checked my hearing and told me it was great, as I expected, as my hearing was fine yesterday. My ct scan showed nothing bad either. Anyway doc is now sending me for vestibular tests to rule out menieres, although he thinks this is unlikely and referring me to neurologist too.
So this is where I am at, still with the stemetil if I need it, although haven't taken any for a cpl of weeks as I'm trying not to. I do feel very nauseous most days too though.
Is it still likely to have been labyrinthitis?

It still is BUT my money is going on to Menieres Disease because of the fluctuating deafness in one ear. Your vestibular function tests should give us a definitive answer.
You say C-T scan......I assume that you don't mean an MRI scan?
Thanks for the update......my interest remains.

My mother suffered from labyrinthitis, which began in her 60s. Her symtoms were the same as yours, and I remember that when she had a bad attack, she actually had to just lie on the ground because the spinning was so bad. Stemetil was very effective if she got it in time, and she always had some in the house.
