There was a slight improvement. She used to get really anxious about being late, to the point that she couldn't sleep if there was an important reason to be up early the next day - always convinced herself she would sleep in. She would also convince herself that she was seriously ill when it always turned out to be something and nothing. There was probably a whole host of anxieties that she didn't share with us.
But, the hypnotherapy has taken the edge off according to my friend but in no way have these feelings gone away for good.
Best of luck

The University of York published a report from the National Institute for Health Research in 2009 that examined the findings of randomised controlled trials (RCTs) relating to the effectiveness (or otherwise) of hypnotherapy.
With regard to the use of hypnotherapy to treat 'generalised or unspecified anxiety', the report stated: "One RCT reported that hypnosis was superior to both music relaxation . . . and no treatment . . . for reducing anxiety scores. However, one RCT reported that hypnosis was no more effective that meditation, and another RCT reported hypnosis was no more effective than no treatment"
The authors' overall conclusion was: "The evidence from current RCTs was insufficient to support the use of hypnosis for the treatment of anxiety".

If you expect it to be a miracle cure with you being cured having made no effort then it tends to be unimpressive. But if you are simply looking for it to be easier to stick to whatever you need to do to change then it is a better proposition. It is, after all, merely bolstering an attitude/mind set to aid your attempts.
I'm unsure what one normally does for anxiety but I suspect get used to whatever is causing it. Learn to take deep breaths and relax and this should help. Plenty of cases shown to work for phobias which I suggest is probably similar.
