Going On Statins

The cardiologist wants to put my husband on statins to prevent him getting a heart attack. It will only be a low dose. Can anyone out there put my mind at rest, please, side-effects wise. Thankyou.

Yes, there are , or maybe, side effects with statins affecting some people, the incidence varies from study to study.
I would suggest that you do not Google the side effects as that may put thoughts into your hisband's mind concerning events in the future that may have nothing to do with statins.
One can only try the medication and assess it's suitability over say, a month or so.

I think all we could do would be to tell you of our own experiences, and as no two people are the same, these experiences are unlikely to apply to your husband. The first type of statin that was prescribed for me made me feel quite uncomfortable, so a different type was prescribed, and the problems went away completely. It is a matter of working with the cardiologist to find the statin that best suits the individual.
