If You Are Married,do You Allow Your Spouse To Have Friends Of The Opposite Gender?
138 Answers
My boundaries with my wife(before she left me) is not having opposite gender gender friends because it leads to nothing besides trouble.I think it's good wisdom not to have friends of the opposite gender after marriage.I don't allow my wife to text another man unless they are family members and I don't allow my wife to email another man unless they are family members.I don't see what's the point for married people to have any kind of friendship with someone of the opposite gender outside of family members.

It goes without saying that the same applies to me.
Thirty-five years together - twenty-nine of them happily married.
Do you see a lesson there faco21?

faco21 - I am not sure whether you live in 2015 and this is a clever wind-up on a slow afternoon,
or you live in 1945 and this is one of the many many reasons why your wife left you.
Please feel free to enlighten us which it is - in your own time, which you will have more of, now that you are not monitoring your wife's communications any more!

Why would I even try and stop her, she is a strong independent woman with her own job, her own money and her own mind. We are in the main both friends with each others friends of both genders, and there has never been a problem. She often goes away for a weekend to visit Family and it's not unusual for one of her female mates to pop in for a coffee and see if I'm alright.
You have a very strange outlook imo!
Oh god!!! He/she is back!!!
Faco, my hubby has loads of lady friends.I am aware of them and have no problem with this. We have been married 35 years and if he was gonna run off with one of his lady friends, he would have done so by now!!
Being married does not mean you own someone or stop them from living their life!!!
