Hi, I saw my gp yesterday for the results of blood tests which were, liver, kidneys, thyroid and full blood count. Turns out I'm anaemic so tablets have been prescribed "Ferrous Sulphate" 200mgx 2 daily. I also had an anal examination as I bleed due my Farmer Giles if I get constipated. I eat a lot of fruit so I hardly get constipated but, my doc has referred me to a gastro specialist at the hospital. I had a phone call from my surgery earlier asking me to see the nurse to have my Bp and heart rate checked prior to seeing the specialist. It's left me worried as it all seems pretty quick. I'm booked for a week Friday with the practise nurse who told me on the phone my apt with the consultant should be through by then. Help please! TIa.

Doesn't sound a big deal.
Anemia probably, almost certainly due to piles.
Gastro-enterologist will just confirm, that there is nothing above the piles to worry about.......a colonoscopy.

All routine stuff.
Don't be worried by the speed , simply shows that all are working together which is good.

Thanks for your prompt replies both. My doc thinks I need an endoscopy "just to be on the safe side" as he put it. I told him anything but the camera! Considering the waiting lists nowadays, I thought it was urgent. I'm not complaining just worried. Thanks again x
An endoscopy isnt too bad really, I have had one without sedation, its not a pleasant experience but its not painful and doesnt take long at all. focus on breathing and thinking calm thoughts.
