I am having infrequent episodes of atrial fibrillation with no rhyme or reason to them I'm on beta blockers to control the rate normally about 80 a minute so I'm not aware of my heart beating too fast I am only aware of it when I check my pulse and I feel it irregular. But my doctor says there is no point keeping on checking my pulse as I'm on a blood thinner and beta blockers so rate will be ok and less likely to get a stroke. Your average person does not check their pulse at all and I guess I'm one of the lucky ones that know I have it. So do i just ignore it and get on with my life

Yes. Like I do all the time. Just keep taking the tablets!
BTW I was admitted to hospital on 25/8/15. Venticular rate was 140. Still about 98/100 even after Bisoprolol (Beta Blocker) and Rivaroxaban (Blood Thinner). Am waiting a cardioversion so you are not doing so bad. :-)
