New Shoulder
9 Answers
Had to go to a physiotherapist yesterday after getting x-rays of my shoulder and she said looking at the x-rays she would refer me to get a new shoulder joint. No way Hosay says I - she said new shoulder would only eliminate pain but not movement - it is movement as in I want to lift arm higher - no that wouldn't happen. Will stick to my paracodal methinks.

My friend in America got it done 2 years ago same thing and it made no difference to her whatsoever. I do hope pain remains at the threshold it is now. Do find when I have gone private physio many times that manipulation on the shoulder really helps. This is what she is offering - I will await an appointment to get more physio. Might as well.
Ha ha! mosaic! Actually a hip replacement means a walk in the park, over the moors etc. after a few weeks. My surgeon told me that hips are run-of-the-mill these days, knees are trickier but they've got the hang of them now and they are working on ankles and having increasing success! Had 2 hip replacements - that dreadful, dreadful pain went immediately I woke up after each.
Shoulders are tricky. A friend in France had one. She struggles with the rehab. a bit and having one arm strapped to your chest for a while is inconvenient - but her pain went and she now has a useable arm (not as good as it could be, but it works). I'd say 'go for it' - but you will need help afterwards for a while.
