What's Happening Here Then ??
3 Answers
I tried logging on facebook last night - no joy. It either came up with, "the page cannot be displayed", or it loaded the page in such a fashion that it was unreadable.
Anyway, I tried again today and it was exactly the same - tried using IE and Edge. I was on my laptop, Win 10 ..... and my missus also couldn't get on facebook using her laptop on Win 10 - both connected to our Virgin Media wireless router.
I tried logging on, using my phone (connected to the router) - still no joy.
Next step I tried disconnecting my phone from the router and tried connecting using my Vodafone internet - success, I managed to connect.
On my laptop I could connect to all other websites fine - just not facebook.
Next, I disconnected my laptop from the VM network and connected it t my Vodafone network, by enabling "portable Wi Fi hotspot" on my phone - the laptop connected to facebook, so the problem must lie with VM.
Well, I disconnected from Vodafone and reconnected to VM ...... the laptop now connects to facebook .... what gives .... what's happening here ?? I'd already tried resetting the VM router and that did no good, so why does disconnecting and reconnecting to the router solve the problem .... and why was the problem only on facebook ??
Any ideas please ??

Well I initially thought it was a fb problem, but I could connect on my phone using the Vodafone network, but not using my Virgin Media broadband.
Also, the problem still persisted today, right up until I connected my laptop to Vodafone, using my phone, then when I reconnected to Virgin Media, it worked .... it seemed too much of a coincidence .... I've no idea what just happened.
