Never heard before that a frozen shoulder could be linked to diabetes...

Been the doctors this morning with a frozen shoulder, Ive had it since before Christmas and hoped it would right itself, it hasn't, its got worse. He examined me and asked questions and is sending me for a blood test for diabetes.

1) How is a frozen shoulder linked to diabetes? never heard that b4

2) I told him that I couldn't have diabetes as Im gaining weight, not loosing it.

Anyone ever heard of this b4? Im getting worried now as im already trying to cope with other ailments... depression, back pain, weight gain, failing eyesight etc

Ah, the joys of ageing!

Really! well it is an established fact and it is also associated with an under-active thyroid.

Sqad, have I got this right, the omeprazole is to prevent bleeding because im on other meds as well? If I wasn't on other meds then I wouldn't need the omeprazole??
Question Author
//Type 2 diabetes.....weight gain is characteristic//
My weight gain (as ive posted about many times on here) has always been attributed to been on Mirtazapine, however, lately it does seem to have been creeping up again.
i think it's unlikely to be related, rather you are getting older and fatter and it would be a good idea to indentify if you do have it. They probably get extar QOF points for testing you
to put it bluntly, they bung me up Nailit :-)

GP told me naproxen can upset tummy which he prescribed omeprazole to deal with.

Why take one tablet when 2 will do lol
Correct.......some meds, irritate the stomach lining by producing acid which may causes ulcers and occasionally bleeding.
Omeprazole stops the acid production and hence all the nasty side effects of acid in the stomach.
