what can you give as a small treat

A teacher friend of mine has said to her students as an incentive for coming in on time she would give them all a little treat if they manage to come in on time for the whole of next week.

She forgot that she has a few muslims in her class who are fasting at the moment so her idea of a box of chocolates have gone out of the window.

Anyone got any ideas?

how bout buying some pretty pencils or other stationary for them use. i loved getting new stationary when it was a new school year. or get them to decorate their own place name, just a couple of ideas hope they help

How about the reverse of this, ie not punishing them if they get in on time! This kind of "reward" for doing what you should be doing just encourages wayward behaviour.

sorry forgot to say that these kids are college kids and think they would laugh in her face if she brought in pretty pencils.

ha ha ha, oops just got the impression they were infants. College kids so we're talking 16 - 18?  they should be getting there on time anyway at their age!! anyway rant over, ermm how bout bribing them with, if you come on time you can leave a lil bit earlier on fridays (if they have her on fridays that is?)

Don't see why the Muslims can't keep the chocolates and eat them after sundown... after all they only fast during daylight hours.

What about printed vouchers to let them off one night of homework assignments for the subject she teaches?

I'd let them go early on Friday. at least then doesn't cost any money.

She might be able to get some samples of fragrances from a department store. They tend to have some for both men & women & they're usually keen to give them out if you're polite.

This might not suit all her class, or maybe some might not want to come but the offer is there if thay want it.

Why doesn't she just take them out one evening for a pizza or bowling and rather than her pay for everything they can share the cost and am sure they wouldn't mind as it is a social do, as long as your freind shows she is putting in more than the others.
