now its 3 times a week
drives in
hops intoa taxi
returns 5 or 6 hours later
if his car gets damaged
am i liable
im thinking of putting up a no parking sign
would it be legal
ta
Only signs put up by the local authority or the highways agency are legal.
Private 'no parking' signs are useless they have no legal standing even on a private road.
The driver you mention and any other drivers have as much right to park there as you do.
You are not liable for any damage to his car unless you have caused it!
I own my off road parking spot and there is a notice put up by the managing agent saying these are private parking spaces. When someone parked in my spot I called the police and the police found the owner and made him move it.
Tell them you own it then pasta. The police never asked me to prove it.
It's not right that people can park there, it's not a public car park. Presumably you pay rent to cover the use of your parking spot?
In that case pasta you could do the same as I did when someone parked on my space. Call the police, give them the reg number and they will find what info they have on the culprit. In my case they had his mobile number. He was in a house up the road and moved it within 5 mins of me contacting the police. I live in a parking zone where you have to pay to park if you don't have your own parking space so it is infuriating to then have to pay while someone is using your spot for free.
