Know Sqad is not around to answer this but if one finds you need to take ibrufen for pain relief - what milligrams? if that is the correct word. I am gonna have to take something for this pain throughout the body. But like Lazarus I will get up and walk.

Either 2 x 200 mg four times a day or 3 x 200 mg three times per day.

The usual ones you can buy cheaply in the supermarket are 200 mg per tablet. Take two at a time every four hours. For terrible pain, OH was prescribed 600 mg per dose.

@Cloverjo - do know you can get the cheap ones in say Poundland etc but do you think they are the real macoy as opposed to buying in a good pharmacist.

You can take two paracetamol at the same time.....

Two paracetamol and two codeine together four times a day.

I would, however, suggest you see your GP who will prescribe what you need.

You can take up to 800mg in a single dose, combined with 1g of Paracetamol, up your 3x daily (or 400mg 6x daily).

Never take on an empty stomach.

^^^^ I agree with Nomercy.......although the 800mgm dose should be reserved for severe arthritic disorders.
600mgm in one go is fine......

I agree with no mercy and Mohne

the internet says max dose ibuporfen is 800mg and total 3.2g a day ( = four doses ) which I would regard as high

the 'normal' dose is 5 mg/kg which is for a 70kg woman, 350 - 400 mg
( because five sevens are thirty five )

and yeah strongly support ranitidine if you are taking ibuprofen

and yeah whoever said start off with 1g paracetamol, I strongly agree with that - max 6 times a day - max daily dose 6g
