Painful, Swollen Foot.
8 Answers
Has anyone had painful swelling on top their foot and hurts to stretch toes. Also looks swollen on ball of foot and hurts. I can only wear my trainers when I go out and have to really loosen the right one. I've rested a lot last couple of days and taken a few anti imflamatries. Very painful at night. Anyone experienced this?

It could be gout, but I don't think it's that. My foot isn't red. I was very busy last two weeks away looking after 19 month old granddaughter. Up and down stairs, walking everyday. Perhaps wearing wrong shoes? I don't know. Will ring doctor tomorrow, see if I can get an appointment and see what she thinks. Thanks for your suggestion anyway.
This could be due to a few conditons:
From what you describe......the favourite would be Plantar fascia band tear which is not serious but destablises the bones of the foot ( metatarsalgia)
The other consideration is Morton's metatarsalgia...Google it.
Also you could have stress fracture.......but that is a rank outsider.
Keep on with the anti-inflammatories until you see your doctor..e.g Ibuprofen 400mgms every 6 hours if need be.

Gout usually loacalises around the big toe joint (ex-husband). Sounds as Sqad suggests, plantar fasciitis. Hurts like nobody's business - I got it earlier this Summer. Best thing I have done ( I do all exercises, frozen can rolled under foot is good and can pick up a towel with my toes with flair! ) is to have had a few sessions with a local beautician/masseuse for a leg and foot massage. Made a massive difference.
