Free Anti Virus

What would anyone here suggest is the best free anti virus program to use, please..
I've used AVG for years but an ongoing issue with junk mail in my Hotmail account I am concerned to be getting 15 or more scamming emails a day,
When I go to block them I get a message something like, unable to block as sender isn't a proper address?
I haven't opened any of them and never will but its very annoying not to be able to block them.
Its an email address I've used for some years and well used for so many things its impractical to change it completely..

If you're getting spam to your email account, all you can now do is to open a new account. (e.g. at my preferred provider, GMX: https:/ /www.gm x.co.uk / ). Then use the 'mail collector' facility to get mail from your old account automatically transferred to your new one. Obviously you'll still get the spam but
(a) you can mark it as such so that, hopefully, in future all such mail will go directly to your 'spam' folder : and
(b) you can gradually let others know your new address. When everyone is using it you'll be able to ditch your old Hotmail account completely.
In future, remember
(a) that you should always use different email addresses for your 'main' account (reserved for use by friends & family) and things like internet purchases and signing up to site like AB ; and
(b) you should avoid using email addresses which spammers can guess at (such as [email protected], [email protected], etc) and, instead, use addresses such as [email protected]
(PS: GMX has excellent spam filters built into it, so that most spam automatically ends up in your 'spam' folder anyway).
