The entire government policy assumed 'Remain' would win. They had not even considered the possibility of losing the referendum!
On the eve of the referendum 22nd June Theresa May was registered as supporting 'Remain' .
Yet more fuel to my theory that the entire 'Brexit' policy is just a smokescreen to allow the government to do it's U turn and announce that it can't get a 'Brexit deal' so the exit is cancelled or ,more likely!, indefinitely delayed.

There was no plan because few expected the result. Nevertheless a plan will emerge, but I can't see why anyone expects that to happen overnight. They'd have something to complain about if the way forward wasn't thoroughly thought through. Still, why miss an opportunity to take a poke at the government?
