Hi. I have just had the results back from a recent health check. The only thing of concern is my platelet count. This was 128 where the normal range is 150-400. My white cells are 4.1 just inside the range of 4-11. Should I be concerned?

I assume that you are symptom free e.g no lumps or bumps, no anaemia and no bruising tendencies, in which case....NO you have nothing to worry about.
Normal reference range is actually 140-400 x 10/9/L.

Has your GP sought an opinion from the Haematologist?
I had trouble with my platelets being low years ago. Had blood tests which showed I likely had a virus. I think I was put on folic acid for a while. Eventually it settled down. I wondered if it was Beecham's powders which I used to take a lot back then for any pain! I say this as I read years later that aspirin can interfere with platelets. Hope all turns out well for you.

Thank you for the answers. As it was a health check it came back with the results and a written report and recommends that I go to my local GP in a few weeks for more blood tests to see if it has improved. She said the low level could have been down to a recent illness or infection, although I don't think I was ill around the time of the health check.

Just a quick update, my platelets are still only 130 and WBC 4.1. The GP does not seem concerned but has told me to get checked again in 3 months. Do you think it should be looked into sooner rather later or am I making a fuss over nothing?!
