I am taking multiple vitamins to try to increase my platelets count.
And am wondering if this is ok.Am taking:
B12 with foliate tablets
Iron tablets
Vit C in fizzy form ( like Alka-Seltzer)
Only one a day.
I read that Papaya is very good for the platelets, so am going to take that a well.
Now,you will say,go to the docs....but three years ago ,I had a very low count and was put on a HUGE amount of steroids, it was horrible!!!
The other week my count was down a bit so am trying to raise it before my next blood test.
I want to know if it is safe for me to take these vitamins.
Can anyone advise me please :)

This article from the Platelet Disorder Support Foundation may be of help. It looks at those supplements that may be useful. Obviously you should consult your Dr.

Thank you .Have a lovely afternoon
The same to you :)
I can see no harm or indeed benefit from taking those supplements.
Your money.....your choice.
Why do you have low platelets? Imo it'd better investigate the underlying cause and treat that. You may have already done so if course

Have done all that, never ģot to the bottom of it.
My platelets were low years ago. Had tests to check bone marrow fir leukaemia, where a needle is used to extract fluid from hip joint. All turned out well. I was put on a load of foliate like you. It did improve a bit, had to have regular tests for a time. All these extra suppliments can only help, I would think. Best wishes.
