Well hubby responded well to round 1 of FLAG chemo.
Not a total remission which us what we hoped and prayed for but blasts reduced to 5% (was 90%). He came home for 13 days but is an inpatient again now due to infection (unknown location / origin). Next chemo will hopefully start next week and will change to FLAG-IDA. As a leukaemia patient he will need to be an inpatient in an isolation room during and after the chemo until his blood counts rise. This takes approx a month, (averages vary) .... It's a long hard scary journey. For both of us. Lesson to all: always remember how much you love someone in case they are taken away too early. Always always question your gp ( ours didn't do basic FBC blood tests despite my husbands requests a full month before his admission to hospital.... Wasted precious time!!!)
