What To Wear To An Ashes Interment

I am going to an ashes interment soon. I went to the lady's funeral, at which we all wore black. Her ashes will be interred this week. What do I wear? Black again, or will that be OTT?

I think you are always okay wearing black, grey would be okay or some other sombre colour I would imagine, but black always looks elegant.

For an ashes interment it doesn't matter. Some people would prefer bright colours. If you know the lady do you know what colours she liked? Smart casual would be acceptable.

I would probably opt for black as it's just easier and like kvalidir says it's elegant.

Whatever you want/feel comfortable in. I don't believe society is so strict on dress codes these days.

Unless that the kind of thing they would have wanted. I've been to funerals where it has been requested the bright colours be worn.

Thank you, everyone. I think I'll go for smart black trousers and jacket and a nice top, maybe coloured but not too jazzy.
