Hi,
Does anyone have any knowledge of this product, is it worth buying, or do I go to a chiropodist?
Many thanks for any input.

I have potential ingrown toenails on both my feet. My two big toe nails grow with curved edges. I visit a podiatrist every three months and she deals with them for me. Luckily, I started going for this treatment before the skin around my nail was damaged. I would rather have someone who knows what they are doing, working on them, than try to poke around my nails by myself.

I have looked at the kits but decided not to try to deal with it myself.
I agree with Tilly, far better to pay a podiatrist/chiropodist than DIY. Even the smallest of problems can get out of control as we age.
Go to a doctor so he will refer you to a podiatry clinic, ive just had my big toe done, brilliant service, went in one day and had it done in 20 mins, went back the next day to have it redressed.

I just redress it my self every day now.

Dave.
Did you have the sides of the nail taken off, Dave, or the whole nail?
Just the left hand side, had some injections in the big toe(that was the painful bit) a bit like an injection when you visit the dentist, then they removed about a quarter of the nail then used some kind of acid where they removed it to stop it regrowing, all pain free.

Dave.
I'd get a professional to do it too. I went to Podiatry, referred by my GP though I think you can self refer, here anyway.

I had both sides of both big toe nails removed as they were involuted and ingrowing and causing a lot of problems, including infections as they were piercing the skin.

As Dave said, it's painless once the anaesthetic is in, the injections were the most painful bit! I haven't had a problem with them since.

Aesthetically they aren't the prettiest(though I have Rheumatoid Arthritis so I don't have pretty feet anyway!) but I think anyone would have to look pretty hard to notice.
