Had half an hour chat with the Doctor yesterday.
Managed to get some answers and some clarification. Heads up to the man he was very accommodating indeed, and didn't seem to mind explaining things for me.
The scan of head shows no tumours at all, nor does the abdominal one show any tumour in any of his other organs.
However, the cancer is in all lobes of both lungs.
An MDT meeting decided that no further treatment would help or be offered, but he will be discharged to home soon with MacMillan care.
He was a lot less confused when I visited, and looks a lot better than he has this last two months.
We will both be pleased when he can come home :)

Please remember to make yourself something to eat too, I often let that slide and became a mess.
Yes, what Mamya said, please look after yourself. We are always here just for an everyday natter. Hope you get a reasonable night tonight Ferlew. x
I remember Mamya going through the same Ferlew, so I know she'll be here for you all the way.
" just something puzzling me that mentions T7 and 'increasing sclerotic change' "

Abnormal bone growth the vertebra of the neck. Could be due to many things, but association with his lung cancer, could be one factor.
I went through this with my Vera, so I do understand. you must look after yourself too, as others have said.

I wish you well for the time you have left and will be thinking of you.

Thanks everyone, I have now had the discharge letter read to me in clear English by two medical professionals today.
Also had a call from Social Services saying they have been advised I need care at home for Mr F.
Lots of places where he has Cancer, but brain, liver, spleen and kidney ok so far, upper spine, all lobes of lungs, trachea and some bones affected.
Dreading the future of all this and wondering if I'll cope seeing him poorly. Will accept all and any help on offer. SS ringing me Monday. GP to sort Macmillan help, and palliative care.
Thanks again everyone :)
You've said the right thing there, accept all help and care offered and if insufficient ask for more - it will be very hard but we care through love.

Keep popping in if only for a moment when you can.x
If Mr, f is in any pain at all, contact gp/mc,millan nurses immediately. Best wishes .
Hope all quiet with you and Mr. F .

Just having a few minutes whilst he sleeps.
I have no idea what is going, (well that's a lie, I have suspicions).
Yesterday evening, and most of today he has been absolutely gaga. Totally confused, a tad stroppy, not his usual self at all.
Rang SS today as he has now been home a week. They "thought" I had carers coming in 4 times daily. Along with District Nurse, and Macmillan. Nope, just me, and a friend who is staying for a couple of days.
Now awaiting a call back. Where he has been sleepy for weeks now, he seems to have gone the other way, and is sleeping so very lightly. No pain he says, but GP told me yesterday to give Oramorph 2 hourly (3mls syringe) to keep the back pain at bay. (Hospital kept his MST Morphine tabs, got to go and pick up more, I had a week of meds put up when he was taken into hospital.)
As soon as I have this phone call, I will pop and pick up pills.
Thanks so much everyone for your continued care, much appreciated. :)
They really should have had the care in place by now, hope you get help quickly.

I know you aren't but don't be afraid of the oramorph (I was for a while) it does help - stroppiness is not nice but expected, have a weep when you leave the room then shake your shoulders.

Thinking of you.x
Oh, Ferlew.....so much unnecessary stress on top of what you are dealing with......you have to keep asking and asking, don't you.....

Take care.....as much as you can.....I do know what you're feeling.....Gx
I am sorry you are having to go through all this.

I hope all the help you need comes now, you need it so you can have the occasional break.

My thoughts and prayers are with you both at this difficult time. xx
Let's hope you get the much needed help soon. Take care of yourself too. x
Ferlew, please tell us services are now in place for Mr, f and you , ?
Hope the care package gets sorted soon ferlew. Are you managed to get some sleep? xx

Horrendous evening and night. Hallucinating all blinking night. I went and sat on the bed with him to try and allay some of the things he was seeing. We were awake all night, finally dropped off around 6.30am which made him a tad cross, but I was just done in.
We had black hooks dangling, ceilings rising and falling, birds everywhere, fists coming out of my mouth. People hosing the bed and bedroom floor, and my son drilling dangerously in the garden.
None of course happened.
SS called at 10am, not able to arrange anything yet. Rang District Nurses who had been told I did indeed have help, she in turn got a doctor round here to see Mr F and discuss what may be happening.
Opinion is that the confusion may be caused by infection that went on a bit, the Alzheimers, and possibly the cancer ob the move toward the brain, any and all of the above could be the cause she said. They won't do a further brain scan because of the state of his health.
GP did a good overhaul, no apparent physical cause, she took away a urine sample to get tested, and prescribed Diazepam 2mg 3 times a day to see if it helps with the hallucinating. Currently sleeping quite peacefully, and I am hoping to follow suit very soon.
Hope to hear from various bodies tomorrow.
