I like your suggested diagnosis of secondary amenorrhea dut to low calorie dieting.
It is not my area of expertise, but:
1) See your GP, re perhaps some blood tests...hormonal, sexual and others e.g TSH (thyroid), vitamin levels and blood count.
2)I wouldn't consider non pregnant ameorrhea excessively worrying.
3) Nothing sinister springs to mind.
I had a 4 month spell of amenorrhea around the age of 23. I had various tests which all came back negative.
I was chatting to a lady in Holland & Barrett and she suggested parsley oil capsules. I tried them and I must have ovulated straight away as I had a period a fortnight later. I had periods every 2 weeks for a short period, after which my cycles normalised.
I had virtually no periods for years, kept trundling to the Dr to sort it out. He always said there was nothing to worry about and in the end there wasn't. I have a son and daughter and can't believe I actually wanted periods!
