A project I'm working on prompts me to ask what is your preference - if in fact you have one,
and which is this one used by AB, does anyone know?

I used to use Comic Sans, but it has disappeared from my PC's list of fonts....does anyone know how I can get it back ?
Any of them
no idea, its plain and large thats all i know. I like italics but its not easy to see for me..
I used to use Comic Sans for all my school worksheets. It's much easier for children to read.
We have to use Ariel 11 at work so that's my habit for everything. I seem to remember on the test site we could pick which font of two we preferred for the new site. No idea what they were though.

Talbot; //Any of them// Surely you can't mean that, there are some pretty bizarre ones. I use Arial a lot.
I use the mermaid's version :-)
kh
as an intellect you will be unsurprised to learn that there is font psychology -
font is to be tailored to the purpose of the script

but you knew that anyway as language has various forms/levels depending on whether you are asking, instructing, etc

kinda you dont use dingbats in a court document. This is what semiotics is all abart den innit ?

I use century schoolbook a lot ( and peoople remind them of school text books instructional and subliminal huh?)
^^^ people say that it reminds them..... dear dear
I use Comic Sans in most of my emails, but Arial Rounded Bod at 16 pt. for address labels.
mikey4444, to get back your font get a friend to download it onto a memory stick from their Windows/fonts file, then put the stick into your computer and copy it into your own Windows/font file.

You can also download comic sans from here;

I think the AB font is called Tiresias, or something like that.
Much as I would love variety in my emails font-wise, there seems to be no provision for it on either Outlook or Yahoo...this on a Samsung tablet.

Looks like there's a lot of hate for comic sans on the web...;-). I guess that's what happens with over exposure.

I am very fond of "Ransom Note". ( look it up)
But most of my printed letters go out in Verdana
Question Author
Pasta; I see what you mean and it never would be my cup of tea.
Ebrima looks nice. Trojan Pro and Lucida bright are both very classy I think.
Verdana for most things - it's very clear and easy to read - either as printed text or on small devices.

Trebuchet is good for the same reasons.

Comic Sans is OK for personal stuff, but it sets my teeth on edge if used in a professional context.

Can anyone explain the purpose of 'Bookshelf Symbol' and 'Symbol'?
Most of my letters are typed using Times New Roman.

For designing posters, etc, I like the various versions of Arial for the main text.

I also use Bookman Old Style and Bookman Antiqua quite a lot.

For cursive fonts, I use Brush Script MT and Handscript SF.

I use a lovely little program which, with one click on my taskbar, lets me view all of the fonts which are installed on my computer:
http://www.styopkin.com/details_free_and_easy_fonts_viewer.html
(That page hasn't been updated for ages and only refers to the software running in Windows XP, 2000 and Vista but it runs just as well in Windows 7 and I'd be very surprised, given its simplicity, if it didn't also run in Windows 8 & 10).
You're obviously not a mathematician, Khandro, if you can't see a use for Symbol!

All of those lovely Greek letters, together with symbols for equivalence, set inclusion, existence and implication (for example) are wonderful when typing mathematical expressions!

The AB font is called Tiresias and was designed for the RNIB to be highly legible and there good for partially sighted people.
