Today was my day off and I stayed in my jammies all day. Came down with laryngitis yesterday and have felt tired and very lazy. Felt better earlier so took dog out. Felt quite shaky very quickly...typical of me when not well. The thought of 6 hours on my feet fills me with dread...nor do I want to expose anyone to it. Not sure if laryngitis is contagious?

Why the thread? I know it’s odd....but when you live alone and are feeling low it helps to mull things over with others..... Especially if you’re a conscientious soul.....x

if you don't feel up to it..then no..
As Minty says.......
The bugs are contagious, although it may give other people something other than laryngitis, and the more you rest, the faster you will recover. Rest. keep warm, drink loads.

I've only had one day off for a tummy virus months ago. Yet I always feel guilty when I take any time off.
then DON'T !! rest up..plenty fluids..keep warm
Don't feel guilty pasta, you need to take care of yourself and not spread your germs around. Good advice already given - plenty of rest, fluids and keep warm.
If you don't feel up to it, Pasta then whatever you have is contagious!

You won't recover quickly by forcing yourself into work.....just go with how you feel.....tuck up....pamper yourself and return to work when you're fit.....and not contagious!...Gx
What do you mean by laryngitis?
Hoarseness? If so, that is rarely contagious.
Providing that you haven't got a temperature and don't feel achy, the decision as to whether or not to go to work ......is yours.
I would go.....personally.
If you're still not tickety-boo, or feeling anywhere near 100%, I would stay home....drink lots of fluids, heating on, until you start feeling well enough to return. Feel better soon, pasta x

Sqad...I work with vulnerable people( homeless)...and handle food. If I sat at a desk, I might feel differently.
You have already made up your mind not to go.............so why the thread?
it's ok Pasta..Sqad is going to do your shift tomorrow !!

He'd love it...all those grubby hands on the serving counter...;-)
there's a lot of it about, pasta, coming out as colds, coughs, tight chests and more of a flu, - I've been down for a week now and only just coming through, my penance being a lack of sleep, only remedied by kicking me over the top into zzzzzs on Saturday with two sleeping tabs (after 7 hrs in 3 nights), and last night, au naturel for 7.

So it does ^^^^.
That's what CB is all about Gness, lifeline for some. Before I retired I would decide if I went to work when I wasn't feeling great, based on whether somebody would have to cover for me.

Thank you Gness...you said what I often think x
Thanks, Pasta....don't know if you feel the same but when I was working I felt so bad about having to take any time off I sort of felt that I needed someone else to give me permission to take the time or even to be ill.....daft I know.... :-)
So did you? (go sick)
