If you want comfort from the belief that your loved ones have 'gone before', you can find it very easily, as all these people have done.
The notion that people in extreme emotional states, such as grief or childbirth can 'see' or 'hear' dead relatives is as old as humanity.
The comfort it provides makes it a thread that runs through the human psyche, from cavemen to modern man - but that does not make it a fact - just that some people want to believe that it is a fact, so for them, it is.
People wanted to believe that the earth was flat - but that didn't make it so.

well... 50% anglos do - hear their dead relatives. I find it quite comforting. I reckon that is why the Vikings were so easy to convert - they wanted and updated version of Valhalla. I was sent off to a shrink for hearing voices and had to reassure the Iranian psychiatrist that this was normal for anglos ( = transcultural psychiatry) - she did give me a bit of a look.
I liked 'Ghost' a lot - but have never had a decent stock market tip

BUT
out of body experiences in near death episodes HAVE been disproved I regret to report
Very popular in the eighties - the doctors said, 'he's a gonner all right.' and a voice said No No - go back to your body and live your life......
They started putting numbers on the backs of lampshades, so when someone said 'I was floating above me....' in cas whilst they were jumping on my chest.....
someone could ask what was on the back of the lampshade. No instance EVER of getting it correct.

Believe as you will but I experienced OBE after the birth of last child. I saw the black tunnel with a bright place beyond. My late uncle was ushering me in but I said “I have a baby to care for”. I was dropped back into my bed & the patient beside me called the nurse.
Since I was too scared to sleep after, I was allowed to smoke in the loo....result ;)

Someone in that article mentioned a ball of light which is interesting. My best friend who has always been very sceptical of anything paranormal said that when her sister's partner died a few years ago, she was sitting in the living room with her neice and both of them saw a golden orb which flew across the ceiling.

Once again your experience is rooted in a traumatic experience.
I am not trying to say you did not experience what you did, but suggest that it was a product of your stressed psyche rather than a 'visit from the other side'.

In my humble opinion as a Christian, I believe these folk 100%.
However, my belief in God is also a belief in His altar ego, Satan, who is so clever and powerful, that he can deceive people in believing in an afterlife without Jesus Christ.
That is his goal.
If you are deceived, you have no idea about the deception, and think of it as gospel.
In my humble opinion that is.
