Further to my post below RE: fatigue
Rang GP today and triage rang me back. Got an appointment next Monday to see a doctor. In the meantime have had to go to the surgery to collect a form to take for blood tests. The form states that its a 10 hour fast before bloods are taken. The triage that rang me said that they would just be routine bloods as a first port of call. Ive had many 'routine' bloods done before but never a fasting one so why this time?
Since when has a routine blood sample been a fasting one? Any ideas?
Thanks.
Nailit...just a word re B12. Always ask for print out of your results because I know from experience even if these are low but within range they will tell you all is normal and do nothing about it.... Unless your doc is brill and understands your plight.
Again from experience .... You can have all the bad symptoms of this deficiency and still require the injections....but some doctors (like mine for my OH) will not give them to you! Hope this helps.
As Sqad said earlier, lipids. Didn't know that was cholesterol. Live and learn eh? I presume that my last blood test, some years ago, must have been a fasting test, just don't remember it been such.
I checked in with my local medical centre (1st time ever!) because I discovered I had a high blood pressure sdo they booked me in for a number of tests which included a fasting blood test. | got the impression it was just routine.
Everything was ok as it turned out that the high blood pressure wasn't significant and there was only a minor issue with my red blood cells.
Thanks for that Dunitall.
Anne, I refused them because my levels were only JUST above normal and I know so many people who had been on them and they made them ill. I was hoping to lower them naturally.
